On Saturday I got to drive in a Demolition Derby race, also known as full-contact racing. The track is in a dirt rodeo ring, so you really don't get any significant speed going. But it was a blast! I drove in what is called a "Powder Puff" race for people who don't drive very much. It was my first time and I had tons of fun!!!
I started in the fifth position (which means I had to pass four other cars to win). About the second lap around I blew the front-right tire which made going around corners very hard. But despite the handicap, I did make it past three of the cars and finished about three car lengths behind the winner. And I got to bump several people around it the process. Lots and lots of fun. We got it on video which I hope to post sometime.
Below is a picture of the hat the car's owner/driver gave to me after the race. He said I did a very good job of driving.
